Founded in 1933, the IRC was created by a group of humanitarians determined to respond to the world’s most urgent crises. Today, the IRC continues that mission on a global scale—delivering life-saving health care, helping children learn, supporting displaced families, and empowering individuals and communities to rebuild their lives with dignity.
With programs in over 40 crisis-affected countries and resettlement, asylum, and integration services across the U.S. and Europe, the IRC remains a powerful force for hope and resilience—especially for women and girls.
